I just bought two used GTX Sea Doos. Did a compressiion check everthing checked out fine. took them both out to test one ran great very pleased, however the other one feels like its slipping. Once I take off the RPMs jump but the boat doesnt. When the ski planes it doesnt slip as bad but nowhere near the power of the other ski.:(

pump problem. impeller, wear ring, or just badly sealed after removal. i tore my hair out over this same problem. nice thick bead of rtv when reinstalling and it jumps out of water like-well, like it is supposed to.

How hard is it to replace the impeller and wear ring and how much should the parts cost? Im problable going to take it to the repair shop.

not huge job. first, take the pump off and see what you have. if not truly horrible, put back together and seal wear ring to hull thoroughly. i put new wear rings in my speedster, then started changing impellers that weren't very bad. still cav'ed like hell. pulled pumps-fat bead of silicone-jumps right up on plane like it used to. the impeller and wear ring will cost you a couple mph of top speed, which means they cost a little fuel mileage at all speeds. but air getting in in front of the impeller is the real PITA for cavitation.
