1996 gti 720 starts once and then shuts off when warm

I’ve been having problems when after it starts up no issue and I can ride it for close to an hour as long as I don’t turn it off, but as soon as it turns off it won’t start again unless I disconnect my battery for 20 minutes. I have installed a brand new battery, new starter and wires, then I tested to starter solenoid and it’s clicking but it’s almost as if there is a safety switch preventing it from engaging the starter. I’m completely lost at this point, anything helps thanks!

If the battery passes a load test, then it could be that the rotary valve clearance is too large, This happened to me many many moons ago with a 580, thru the dealer I went thru 2 starters before it was diagnosed by a racer.

So it’s not cranking over once it warm are you getting power to the solenoid if so what then your solenoid is no good also once it just clicks then jump the solenoid and see if it cranks over
