1996 GSX was running.

Cleaned the carbs to get ready for the new season. Charged the battery yada yada.

Now I believe I got everything back on, however two things have changed.

1) It wont start
2) When I put the Laynard on the post it doesnt beep like it used 2.

It does turn over and acts like it wants to start. However the plugs seem like that arnt getting gas? Like its not pump gas into the lines and maybe it has air in them? How do I fix this?

Alright, put gas + tiny bit of oil in a spray bottle tried that. Engine Fires then quits still not getting gas. I think i may have an air leak because after I let go of the start button I can hear air releasing from somewhere. Any ideas on next step?

had same prob, with my boat. Kept doin it, til it created the "vacuum" thru the lines, (i thought). So, hooked cables from truk battery, and didnt mess with choke, held start button, and wham..kicked over.
So, guess my battery didnt have the "charge" thought it had...

That was it, it was the battery. Good to go now, thanks timmy.

Didn't even choke, or throttle, hit the start button started after about 4 seconds of holding it. Now it starts right up.

Alright so still running great starts right up, but when I turned it off I can hear air pressure releasing from some where? Maybe I never noticed it before but should air be releasing out of anywhere?

When you are on a compression stroke you have pressure in one cylinder, which will leak past the rings if your rings are old and not to spec which is normal, also could be a spark plug thats not tight

Spark plugs are definetly tight. Did a top end rebuild last year, like the end of the season. So the rings should be good I would be good. Either way anything to worry about?

havnt put it in the water yet, but hooked up to the hose was running great.

No wet suit, water still a little cold in ohio.

Might have a problem, when I opened the garage this morning the whole garage reaked of gas. Its the only thing in my garage with gas in it and I have no gas cans. So I know its coming from it, can't find anything wet or anytihng loose around the carb.

Not sure what the next step is? I want to ignore it but seems like i shouldnt.

actually, thats a good sign. First, open up engine hatch, make sure gas aint at bottom of boat (tank leak)-bad sign, If not, then you know, your tank is "venting".
Might look into, venting garage little better..

Awesome, then the only problem I got is cold ohio waters. :D

Next weekend is going to be a good weekend, just bought a old ass Kawa stand up, which I get next weekend and the doo is going to hit the water next weekend.
