1996 challenger wont start and just beeps

Working on a 1996 sea doo challenger pulled it out to work on it.when I put in the key instead of the fast two beeps it would give me to start it goes beep beeeeeep. no matter what I do with the key.the vessel ran last year and both battery's are newer and charged.what do you all think the problem might be.its always been kinda of iffy on the DSEE since I've had it. think it finally ate sh*t?

If it just gives you one solid beep then it isn't recognizing the key. Try cleaning the post and key with some alcohol and an eraser.
