i've got everything apart except the driveshaft. do i need to take the whole pump apart or does the drive shaft just slide off the 787 engine. the drive shaft is the only thig holding me up from installing my new 787

manual says...

Manual says jet pump and drive systems must be removed. If you're looking for a cheap way to "know how" there are manuals available online to download. I downloaded mine for $4.99. Pretty cheap and then you have information @ hand.

forgot to tell you

My 717 drive shaft that runs the impeller just slid out of the rear fly wheel. SPX, GS, GTS and GTI Models are the same. XP Limited has a front and rear drive shaft. Could look up for you if need me to. Hope this helps

pump is easy to remove. the carbon seal to remove shaft is a bit of a pain. you can unbolt engine and slide it forward off the shaft. it is not easy to reinstall this way. if you remove pump it is a lot easier to get motor back in, even with shaft still in place. it has a lot of available movement when not held in place by the pump. be careful you don't knock rubber snubber off the end of shaft.
