Hello....me again. Gas leak is fixed, loose hose connection on hose between carbs. Checking out the bilge pump (should have done this before I put the motor back in) and it was full of crap. Bought a new one and replaced fuse. The question this evening in the "water sensor" My bilge pump comes on when I turn on switch on the dash. Does the water sensor do it on its own when the dash switch is off? Or is mine stuck on? It isnt mounted to anything right now and If someone could send me a picture of what and where it goes I could mount it in the appropriate place.

Blower works squeaks a little, anyone had succes lubricating these?

Getting closer to testing this thing out! Seats are in!

Thanks for all the help!

Well the bilge pump has a sensor mounted in front of the engine. It is wired into the original plug to the bilge pump. The bilge pump has a manual switch on the dash and as long as the battery is connected it is a automatic trigger. Turn the dash switch it goes on manually. The bilge pump mounts directly in front of the engine, and the hose goes out the side of the boat.I'll see if I can get a picture of the one in my 1997 challenger. You could spray some contact cleaner on the blower and than some silicone. More than likely you have to replace it for about $50.00 at West Marine. It pops out the bottom of the long tube it is mounted in under the sun deck lid. It is held in by a 3 1/2" round clip, get to it from the bottom up. The plug is right there too. If you place it, cut the connector plug and solder and shrink wrap the new one to the existing plug. This way the plug is still water tight using the old water tight plug connector. Let us know how you make out.

Design....

The bilge pump is set to work in manual or automatic, by the sensor. I had a problem with mine, that it never shut off. This sensor is set to turn the bilge pump on after being wet for 10 seconds and will turn the pump off after it's been dry for 30 seconds. The problem is, where it's located. With the water sensor equal to the bilge pump, it'll always stay on. What I did was move the sensor up 2" from the bilge pump. It works great now.
As long as the battery is hooked up and your sensor works properly, it will take care of itself. You only need to use the manual switch if you want to check it for water manually. Or it gives you another needless switch to play with.........
