The SeaDoo is injector and I use the SeaDoo Bombardier injection mineral oil. Also the plugs are the NGK BR8ES @ 0.5 mm. I did have aftermarket Prok flame arrestors and I was told the other day my fuel air might be off. I bolted the stock box back on but I can't get the SeaDoo to start. Right now I push the start button and it chirps one beep. I am thinking starter or solenoid because all of my wires are clean with good connection and no blown fuses. Also I did something that I think I was not supposed to do, I jump started the craft off my truck due to battery troubles. Today I have a new battery so something is messed up some where. Thanks for the help.
...but my 96 XP gives TWO chirps when the DESS key is put on. If you are not getting even a turn-over on the starter, have that checked first. One chirp means it is not getting the correct DESS code to activate the starter, at least it does on my ski.
I bought a starter today so when it gets here fingers crossed it will work. Also, I was reading the other forum about the starter problems and it has some good tips. If the new starter doesn't work then I will jump the solenoid/relay to try that to see if it is bad. I did notice too that in the electrical box the 7.5 fuse is blown but to the best of my knowledge that is for the VTS but let me know if it is tied to starting the ski. Thanks for the help.
excess oil smoke will look white. was this the first fire-up of the year? a slight inner crank seal weep will put enough oil in case for a big cloud for about 2-5 minutes. my speedster looked like a crop duster for 5 minutes last weekend. we get a little puff first start of every weekend also.
see my '01 GTI smokes insanely until i cruise for 5 minutes to where I can open it up. However, I found that three of the four bolts mounting the exhaust manifold to the pipe had broke. i'm in the midst of fixing that and hoping that fixes it. I'm just not sure of the yellowish brown oil in the bottom of the hull.

I get this extreme smoke on startups after a few days shut down. It started after my 95 XP was dealer serviced "because of leaking oil injection lines". (I had been getting oil in the bilge.) The oil in the bilge was eliminated but I had this bad smoke for 2-5 min after each startup following a shutdown of a few days or more. I was told it was probably the center crank seal leaking and it was likely an indication the crankshaft was failing. A few weeks later the crankshaft failed.
I had a rebuilt motor installed. It performs well and sounds fine, but I still get this terrible white smoke on the first start after a long shutdown. It is embarrassing when my neighbor's house disappears in a cloud of smoke as I pull away.
Could a missing, broken or improperly installed check valve in the oil injection lines cause this?
