I was out on the river by my house all day yesterday. The boat was running awesome, but toward the end of the day i noticed the right side motor was kinda hot while the left motor was nice and cool. So i thought nothing of it really just kept boating. Well as i was watching the tach i seen the right motor was having some trouble getting to 7gs so i shut off the boat and looked in the engine compartment. When i opened it smoke just bellowed out of it and the waterbox was completly black and chared the 2inch dia hose that goes from the header to the waterbox was melted and the 6mm hose was also melted. So i one engined her all the way home. took it out of the water and looked at the pumps to see if there was something in there but they were clean. My friend happened to notice that a little tab was lifted up on the top of the pump housing where the intake is. It looks like that tab was made to break away but i just want to know what happen to the boat. :reddevil:

I dont want to fix it without knowing what happen so it does happen again. If anyone can help or give some insight that would be awesome.

hey bay....hope you caught in time...your gonna want to go thru the cooling system, check for crack/broken hoses and or check for blockages. That pipe wasnt cooling, causing the hose to melt...recheck motor compression as well, since it got that hot...god luck

Look for

Debris in the water intake
PLugged water outlets

Good test:
After you fix the hoses that is...

Get a garden hose connector theyre 20 bucks
Follow your owners manual exactly about running out of the water with a garden hose
See if water comes out while running
Dont run more than 1 minute or so at low throttle

Exhaust..........

More importantly, make sure the water is coming from the exhaust when you are running the motor. Never turn on the water before starting the engine.

It sounds like your water regulator to your tuned pipe either quit working or because disconnected. Especially if the pipe was charred hot. That says that your exhaust gases weren't being cooled off.

Your problem wasn't in the engine or your temp beeper (continous) would have sounded. This is in your water injection to your exhaust system........

I think my boat is to old to have the beeps. I will try the hose again but i had water coming out the exh hole in the rear of the boat

1995 Beeps

A 95 will beep continuously if the engine head overheats, its the brass colored sensor between the spark plugs.
