On my 1995 Speedster, I just put in two new batteries. I marked the battery wires and re-installed them just as they were. When I pushed the start button on the right engine it fires right up. When I pushed the start button on the left engine, I hear a single click then nothing.

However, when I use the power boost switch then push the start button on the left engine it fires right up. I didn't have to use the power boost switch before to start that engine. Any idea what is causing this and how I might fix it? I'm not very technically savvy so any extra time to explain what I could do to check or fix this would be appreciated.

I had the same problem with mine. I first replaced the seliniod to the port motor to find that wasnt the problem. What I found out was the problem was a bad ground wire from the battery to the port motor. You may want to unbolt the ground and clean it all up and reinstall. It worked for me.
