My sister and brother in-law have a 1995 Speedster with twin Rotax engines (believe it is the 220 model) and they are having an issue where the left engine will run at idle but coughs when you try to accelerate it. From what they have told me, it started happening after running the boat out of gas, making me think perhaps something got sucked out of the tank and into the fuel filter or carb or injector system (assume this boat is carb'ed but not sure, I have not looked at it yet). Anyway, I am heading up to their house this weekend and will take a look at her and try to get this resolved, but would be keen to hear any suggestions from anyone who may have been down this road.
Also, is there a shop manual for this boat/engine available on-line? The owners are not mechanical people but I am and this boat always seems to have issues so it would be good to have a manual to save some time for common issues.
