Hey guys, I have a 95 speedster that I bought that needed a mpem. I got luck and found a used one. I installed it and took it for a test ride and both motors seemed to work fine. In my test run I noticed the fuel gauge and speedometer were not working. So I was checking fuses tonight and noticed the fuse for the mpem supply port was missing. I installed a new 5amp fuse and it blew right away. My question is do I need this fuse if both motors run? I am guessing if I need it I will have to replace the hidden diode to fix the fuse blowing issue.

Mpems are very expensive,
I know they are, but the thing is both motors seem to run fine the way it is. I thought if the fuse was missing, that side motor shouldn't even run but yet it runs perfect so far

if the fuse is blown something is not working. Go around the boat and find out what circuit that belongs to, or simply get the manual and look it up what it is for.

I have the diagram i know it is the 5 amp for the mpem supply port side, as per the diagram above. There was never a fuse in the holder since I had the boat. I got the boat without a mpem, found a used mpem from a seadoo wrecker. I put it in the boat and took it for a test run and it ran great. I noticed the fuel gauge and speedo didn't work so I started to check all the fuse and that's when i noticed the port mpem supply fuse was missing. I don't know how my motor runs without the mpem power supply, but it does. I just don't know if running it like that will do any damage?

I got nothing....that is weird. maybe you have the one and only self healing mpems. The fuse is there to protect the mpem, so if it runs, my vote is to run it like you stole it. You cannot hurt much else....the mpem is the most expensive thing on that boat. unless someone else things you can cause a fire without that circuit protected with a fuse.

fuel gage not working is probably the typical issue with these boats. there is a little fuse on the baffle. lots of info in these forums how to fix.

Speedo could be the the paddle wheel at the back.

Maybe you already found how to fix those other two.

Ok thanks for your info, I have looked into the other threads about the fuel gauge and speedo
