Hi everyone my name is Matthew and I'm a new member to the forum.

I purchased a 1995 seadoo speedster over the weekend that just passed and I have to say I love the boat :) drives like a dream starts soo easy compared to my previous Four Winns Fling jet boat.

Having a few problems.
1) No readings at fuel gauge
Checked the connector with my ohm meter at the fuel baffle and I get nothing on my meter.
I've read quite a few threads about the F1 fuse and feel I can pull it off.
Although it would appear the electrical box mounted above the fuel baffle would be in the way when I try to remove it unless I'm wrong.
Also have the factory crimp ends on the fuel lines how to take those off?
Do I need to clamp the lines prior to service to avoid any fuel leaking out?

2) No RPM readings
I checked the 20K resistor that was in the shrink tube the meter displayed -95 ohm
I replaced one didn't start to mess with the second get because when I put the new 22K fuse I get a similar reading -96. What could be wrong why do I get a negative reading.

3) No Speed readings.

Had the wife roll the paddle wheel while I had ohm meter on and got no ohm readings.
Plug was nasty covered in crap from laying on the floor of the boat but didn't look corroded.

Oil system was bypassed by previous owner when he had the engines rebuilt.
I don't mind mixing gas but it's annoying is it expensive to reinstall the oil pumps?

Matters what engines u have to get the pumps. The 657s and that u can only get used. U can still get new 717s pumps.

The Speedos never are right so I would worry about the rpm gauges first. Can try to find a used one to see if that one will work.

The fuel gauge always fails and needs the float fixed. On the default line clams I use a screw driver or pliers to break them.

okay no prob.
I think if I can get the RPM gauges working ill be happy and not worry about the rest lol.

The oil is minor I don't mind mixing its a little annoying but better than having the pump die and loose an engine.

would a aftermarket RPM gauge work? Possibly something from my local auto store?
Or do I need to order the expensive seadoo gauge

sorry forgot to ask may be a dumb question.
how do I know if I have the 717 or 657's engine and whats the difference

There should be a plate on the mag end of the engine which will say what engines you have.

Being a 1995 it should be 2 657x engines.
