I have a 95 gtx it will star fine and it will run outside the water but as soon as it goes in the water it you can press the gas down and it only goes 5mph I changed the fuel lines carburetor got rebuild . PLEASE HELP

I had something kinda like this and after a ton of issues I found out it had the wrong size piolet jet in. Once changed ran great

I took it to a mechanic and checked the compression on it and it is good wearing ring got changed new plugs it does have a new battery but it run out of battery last time I used and while I was on the lake some one had one just like my however he was running it wit 12v, 35ah battery from harbor freight and had no problems I am wondering if the it need more amps will I damage anything if I put a 35amps battery on it.

If battery ran down it sounds like your rectifier is bad. Easy to replace and not expensive. Test voltage at rest and when revving up engine between 4K-4500K and report what the voltage is.

I had that last week. I started by checking for spark and it turns out I had a bad spark plug, no spark.

Start from the beginning, and take the advise of the other commenters.

You should check for AC voltage at the battery when running at different engine speeds. A bad rectifier will allow AC voltage into the system causing numerous strange issues.

Does it sound like it is cranking fast enough in the water? If you can start it on the ramp and quickly back it into the water and it runs fine look at the starting system.
If not, might be time to check rotary valve clearance, fuel delivery and carburetor.
Running fine on the trailer can mask fuel delivery issues or rotary valve blow by as the engine running without load requires a fraction of its full capacity.

Compression good? Does that mean 150psi? If it’s been apart, I’d check the rotary valve position (valve timing), and while the carb(s) is off, use a hand vac/pressure pump and check the check valves, pop off pressure, and return fuel oriffices and pulse port. pull them apart
And make sure your fuel filters are clean, needle and seat lever is flush with floor, and unscrew the jets and hi & low air/fuel mixture adj screws, blast them out with brake parts cleaner. Then compressed air. Every hole you can find, don’t overlook the tiny holes on the inside of the Venturi either.
I haven’t run across any with IG timing way off yet, but the ignition module could be bad
