Hello, I just got this about 3 weeks ago and fired it up to see if it would run. I noticed the fuel gage is reading empty (which I drained the tank and put fresh gas in it, so I know it is not empty) and the light stays on showing low oil (which is also full). From everything I have read on this forum ( a lot of great info by the way) the fuel gage problem is pretty common, with a bad float or a bad board in the tank being the cause. This I can deal with jsut keeping the tank full and filling up when I have to go to reserve. The oil light staying on I would like to fix. I pulled the sending unit out of the oil tank and checked the continuity and it seemed to be working properly. I pushed the start button (w/o the lanyard attached) and the light would stay on even if I turned the sending unit up to make the float move. Anyone have any ideas what may cause the light to stay on?

On my 1998 GS, I can open the front hatch, and remove the "bucket", and see my fuel level. This allows me to pretty well keep tabs on it.

If you run at 3/4 throttle, you will burn alot less fuel, than WOT.

No idea on the oil light.

Nate
