posted last week that my fresh rebuilt XP wont open up on throttle, that it hangs at 4k and after 200 yards it finally opens up. Some of yous said my carbs needed to be rebuilt even though i rebuilt them two years ago so i spend another 70 dollars yesterday and put two new rebuild kits in the carbs and fuel pump. Well i took it out after wards and sure enough the same problem, idle is up and down by 400 rpm and when you stomp on the throttle the ski goes slowly to 4k and stays there and then about 100-200 yards later it finally opens up!! Now since i have a new SBT motor with 10 hrs and all new fuel lines, drained tank of gas and added fresh gas again, added a G2 fuel filter, new carb kits, new prop wear ring and bearings etc etc etc what else could it possibly be????? THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS A BOAT I FIXED LAST YEAR HAD A COIL GOING BAD AND WAS CAUSING THE SAME ISSUES UNTIL I PUT A NEW COIL PACK ON THE GUYS BOAT, NOW COULD MY SEA DOO BE DOING THE SAME THING EVEN THOUGH WHEN I CHECK THE SPARK PLUGS THEY HAVE SPARK?

First....

You didn't need to spend the $70 on a "Kit". The carbs just needed to come apart, and be cleaned, and everything be verified. So... did you:

1) Verify the pop-off
2) Verify the bypass ports are open
3) Verify the jets are clear, and correct.
4) Verify the high speed check valve is good, and flat.

?????

Second.......

When you had the engine apart... did you verify 100% that the rotary valve timing was correct? Flipping it will move the valve by half a tooth, and that will have a huge impact on performance.

OK.... with that said... when you open the throttle... was it trying to die... or was it stumbling, and coughing... before it would take off??
