1994 Speedster motor compatibility

Ok, so I have a 94 Speedster. My question is if I find a Rotax 657x in a different Seadoo product will it work and be a drop in replacement? Or are there differences between the same motor in different applications ie ski vs. boat? Thank you for any insight.

If you have the regular 657 then no, you cant swap. Not sure which a 94 has

I have twin 657x motors. What is the difference between a 657x and a regular 657?

The x was for a motor that was bored out to max, to give a larger capacity, i think you could use either a 657 or 657x. I would go for a standard 657 so it would last longer, i think there was about 10hp difference, not worth the fact that you cant bore them out if stuffed.
