I bought a 1994 GTX with a hole in the top of the Mag piston. It was recommended (by others at this site) that I split the case and clean out any aluminum residue from inside the case. I have sucessfully removed the Mag flywheel and the intake and exhauset manifolds (down to the rotary valve).
I cannot get the PTO flywheel off. I am blocking the piston movement and attempting to remove wheel by turning it counter clockwise with a big strap wrench. Is there a better method?
Does the PTO flywheel even need to be removed to split the case?
Once it is off, is the case just held together by 6 allen head bolts?
Thanks,
Brett
