Evening, I have tried to search the forum and have not found my carb rebuild issue but also not exactly sure what search term I could try. Hoping I give someone a good that's stupid laugh and you guys can tell me what I'm doing wrong or missing.

1994 GTX dual carb 657:

I have reviewed the carb rebuild thread about 20 times which has been a huge help getting ready to clean and put the carb back together. The lines were gummed up really bad with black/green sludge as were the original fuel lines pretty nasty. A lot of it was like rubber. Here's my problem, on the PTO side carb (or the one with the idle set screw) i was able to clear one of the fuel lines and its corresponding output (larger hole) but the other line by the smaller hole I can not seem to get it clean or get through if something is blocking it. After cleaning the other carb and the larger hole of the one I'm having an issue with I can get air from the compressor to go through but not on the line side of the smaller hole. I have tried a ton of carb cleaner and everything I can fit into those two but can't get air to pass through the fuel line (i believe the one by the small hole is the inlet side. Am I missing something or do I have a major blockage?

In the pictures the challenge one is the carb on the left small upper hole on left just inside the outer ring if the gasket.

As always appreciate the assistance.

Not sure if this photo helps my description. Raided the kids crafts cabinet. The blue is where I am getting no air flow and the purple is where I have airflow just fine. Other carb airflow is good now. Anything I am missing why this port has no flow other than an obstruction?

Thanks

That is the return line, and the orifice is very small as it builds fuel pressure you need to perhaps get a very thin needle, and go in backwards, use the needle, carb spray and air gun till you finally have a small mist come out.

Thank you I can see the very small hole now that you point it out (and with some eye cheaters). I can see why I would likely not feel/note air being pushed through so I set a vacuum on it instead. I took a short video, which i couldn't get to upload but taking a photo of my vacuum guage that ill attach i am seeing it drop roughly 1 InHg per second to second and a half, question is does the slow rate at which the needle drops seem to indicate I am good to go? Between carb cleaner and those goofy pipe cleaners I am not seeing much more gunk come out it. Thanks for your response, figure ill let a little carb cleaner sit filled in the pipe with some tape blocking it from leaking out over night.

If you spray cleaner into the hole, from the outward side, and then (before the cleaner vapourizes), follow with your compressed air, and repeat, eventually you will get a small narrow mist,,,job done.

Thanks for your help, a bunch of work but got it clear and between covering the hole and putting a vacuum on it, it will now drop like a rock. so its all cleared up.
