1994 GTX 657 circlip tool

Trying to complete my 657 rebuild. Looking for a used circlip installation tool for one time use at a reasonable price. Also, if anyone can provide size just in case I have to purchase a generic tool. Appears Walmart on line has them available. Not sure how well they work. Any help greatly appreciated.

I use a small screwdriver. It is a bit tedious.

I just used the butt of a ballpoint pen on my 717 rebuild so i wouldn't scratch the piston. Sounds ridiculous, but it worked better than a screwdriver for me.

Yeah i had the pen in the cap though. Don't overthink it. I just found something that would squish instead of scar or scrape the side of the piston.

A video I watched of a guy rebuilding a 717 showed him using a popsickle stick from the looks of it.

Get a awl and grind it down then flat so it's about a 1/8 th wide and just be carefull.ive seen guys use that clip tool and do more harm than good
