I have a pair of 1994 seadoo gts. One of them has the handlebar shutoff button wires clipped , stripped and twisted together after the connecter plug. They cut the wires from the original switch 2 inches before the plug connector. Looks like they installed a new off switch because it's black and not red like my other ski. The lanyard switch works fine but it won't start unless I have those wires twisted together. I untwisted the wires and touched the wires from the new switch to the cut wires and it wouldn't start. It would only start if I twisted the wires back together. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My first time on this forum, thank you

Get the correct switch. And the old ones are opposite the newer ones as ones normally open and ones normal closed and aren’t interchangeable.

I never thought about that. Your right, the last owner probably bought the wrong switch. I will check that out . Thanks
