1993 XP Fuel spitting out of PTO carb

1993 XP dual Carb was converted (not by me) to run off premix and the oil injection system was removed.

I Rebuilt the carbs with OEM kits, put new fuel lines in and new fuel.

When trying to start, it doesn’t even try to fire even with starting fluid (before rebuild it wouldn’t start but it sounded like it was trying to fire). My main concern is fuel/oil mix mists/spits out of the top of the PTO carb.

You need to check the rotary valve for timing and if it is even turning.

+ 1 check the rotary valve. Mine did the exact same thing. And wouldn't fire. Pulled off the intake and turned the prop shaft and the rotary valve didn't even move as the crank was rotating.

Okay I will try this! Did you end up replacing the rotary shaft? What was your solution?

If it’s not turning you will have to split the cases and check the damage.

That’s what it was! turned the crank and rotary shaft catches intermittently. So obviously have to replace the shaft. Assuming I will have to pull the engine and split the cases to do it properly?
