Does anyone know how to check the oil injection pump on a GTX Sea Doo to see if it is working? When the ski is running on land I see little or no smoke from the tail end? I also noticed today that per online repair manuals that it appears that the oil filter is in backwards. Or does it mater which way the inline oil filter goes? Once I noticed this I pulled the tube off the leaving side of the filter to check the lines and there is oil trickling out of the filter even though it appears to be in backwards. Plus there is oil in the line that feeds the pump itself. All throttle cables seemed to to be hooked up and moving when the throttle is pulled.

Just a note the oil that I have been putting in the ski is Sea Doo brand mineral oil/injector oil.

I was wondering about my oil injection also, SeadooSnipe gave me a procedure to do, and i found out my ski was gettin oil, everyone else basicaly said, if it 'aint seized, then ur gettin' oil.. im not sure bout ur other questions tho

Here is a quick easy way to see if you seadoo is getting oil. Take off the seat and follow the cable to the oil pump. You will notice it turns easily back and forth. Now while running it on the hose with it running at an idle carefully reach to the cable and turn the disk and hold it open for a few seconds. You should see lots of smoke come out of the exhaust. Shut it down and check the cable is still working correctly. That will let you know that it's pumping oil.
Now go have fun...this little experiment might foul a spark plug too so have extras just in case.

Ok Boys I am going to try this but only open it a little as the lever seems to be moving with the cable. I will let you know what happens>>>>>>>>>
