Hi,

I bought a Used Jetski end of season last year.. After the long winter, Today I was getting the Jetski ready for water.. When I took the seat off, I notice I had pure Oil at the bottom of the Hull. My oil reservoir was full before winter now looks like I lost about 1/4 of the Oil.. I check lines, they look okay, the main oil line that goes under the carburetor which I can't see seems alittle wet/oily under the carbs, and I dont feel a clamp on the line.. I assume it goes in to the Oil Pump.

I dont know much about Jetskis... Does this sound like a serious problem?

Any Ideas on what it could be or what else I could look for?

Thanks

From the oil tank two lines go out, one return. One of the out lines has a filter
and goes to the oil pump under the carb. Then the injection pump has two small
lines about 6" long that go to the rotary valve at the left & right intake port opening
to lubricate the valve and also to mix with the gas/air mixture as it enters the
crankcase above the crank, yet below the pistons. These two lines need to be
replaced every few years as they become brittle and break then leak into your
bilge. You will need to get a Factory Service Manual and become familiar with
the proper maintenance procedures, before your start-up the ski checks, and the
procedures to care for it after riding. Thats a great ski.

This might be a good idea for you.

Thanks for the Input.. Does the Oil Pump have gaskets or seals, that can be leaking.. Or would that only leak when the Engine is running? I'm hoping its just the hoses, since the engine sat all winter..

Today, I looked at the hoses more closely.. The Hose Opposite side of the engine and Carb, took a mirrow looks like a end of hose is leaking alittle.. I put paper towel under that and the one on the carb side to see if it leaking..
I'll re-check in a few days..

Question The Hose in question goes in the top of the Oil tank, just before it hits the top of tank there is no Oil for about 4 inches, then goes inside tank..
Is this normal? The other Hose is full of oil under Carbs..

Thanks for all your Help..

Yes, without the engine running. That is the return side thats on top. These two
larger hoses are in a circular pattern, the other large hose from the tank bottom
is the crank supply side. You might have enough slack to cut back the end of
that return line, if not, its cheap to just replace it

fixed

Just wanted to let you know what problem was..

Took PWC to a Mechanic, The Oil clamps were put on so tight on the Oil lines near the engine that it created creases in the clear hose which created oil leaks.. Mechanic cut off ends and re-attached clamp. Said this is a common problem people overtighten these clamps, and these hoses are very flexable and our not like fuel lines..
