I need some help/advice..

Bought this PWc Sep 2008. When I took it out Sep 2008, lasted about 1/2 hour when I shut it off and back on, Crank very slow or not at all. Took it out of water and got it to start crank slow enough but started... Replaced the battery this year with a new one. Took out for first time a few weeks ago Brand new battery fully charged, ran great for about 2 hours with starting it about 10 - 15 times no problem. Then I was ready to head back to shore stopped engine and restarted and had same problem. Cranked very slightly.. I let it sit for 1 min and tried agin.. I got enough crank to start engine.. Took to shore, and it would not start again. Like battery was drained.. Took out of water, tryed again cranked slow but got it started.. tried a few more time and started right up and seemed to crank fine then..

The person I bought this from said they put a new starter on it Spring 2008, and the engine has been rebuilt in the past..

Could this be the starter, could it be a heat realated problem, Engine ran great though just the starting problem..

These is a weird problem, hopfully one of you can help me figue it out.

i'd check conditions of red cables and grounds. While on trailer, fire it up, then with voltmeter, test battery, with motor around 5500rpm, you should get read'n above 13.5-14.5, if in the 15v, and/or under the 13v, then your rectifier is bad..

Fixed the Problem... Turned out to be the starter.. It was not a OEM and was replaced 1 year ago, replaced it with a SEADOO OEM now and works great... The Bad one was going to far in when engaged and sometimes would rub against the crank shaft causing it to not Crank..
I guess it pays to use Orginal OEM parts..

Well Spoke to soon.. Took out for a ride last week, after about 2 hours cut out and would not start, made grinding noises when trying to turn her over.. Took it to mechanic, found out Flywheel broke loose, and also damage starter gear..
I'm up a creek without a paddle... Not in a good mood right now..
Is it worth fixing a 93, I already put in more money in this PWC than the Book Value..

sux, nobody "caught" your post from 7/1/09....with what you mentioned, i'd say, foy you to remove the mag cover, and clean the metal shavings out..probably then, you would've posted about the conditon of those parts...:(

Look on ebay, find the flywheel and maybe starter.

Do you think its worth fixing? I'm worried If I replace flywheel and starter gear, the main problem that made those go bad is still there...
Somebody mentioned maybe the crankshaft getting to hot, and when engine is off and you try to start it, the starter gear nevers releases from flywheel.. What would a Flywheel and start gear cost roughly?
