1992 SP No Spark

Just bought a 92 SP. Had it running with the hose then put it away now i am not getting any spark. Battery is fully charged.

this happened before. It would randomly not get spark then all of a sudden i would get spark after i let it sit for a couple hours.

Need to check the ignition coil. Start with connections being clean and tight.

all connections are clean and tight. The only way to get spark is to disconnect the black wire with a red stripe coming from the black box with the relays which leads to the ignition coil.

anyone???? I made a mistake it looks like a black wire with a purple stripe that connects to a black wire with a red stripe.

Electrical Issue

Did you ever find a solution to this?
I have the same issue with my 92' SP.
I've tested the Stator Coils,tether switch,Handlebar Kill & bench-tested the MPEM. All were within my manual specs'.
Sometimes after meddling with it, I have spark & start.
But then next morning' no spark again.
I'm thinking MPEM is the issue as of now.........

Intermittant Electrical Issue

Well,..after replacing my MPEM, I solved this issue as of now.
I tried starting my ski' just before swapping out the module,..no spark.
After replacement, boom,..ignition.
My spark would come and go with temperature changes to the module.
Certain days or times of the day it was ok,...other times..nada'.

At least I can say I was right...after testing & eliminating other items from the equation, I came to the sad conclusion to spend & get a new module.

Time to ride 1 last weekend up North!
