After getting my seedo back after sitting in the shop for 6 weeks for other problems. the first day i got it on the water, after trouble getting it to start adn maybe a half hour of running, i started getting a high pitch beep, which we tracked down to the heat sensor. i tried cleaning it up, i started it on land as i ran water through it and no beeping. so i thought i was good. we went out on the weekend and after about 5 minutes it started beeping again. so we docked it. I called the shop to order a sensor, they told me 3 to 5 days. well after waiting 6 i called and no part in the shop yet. I get a call a few minutes later from someone else there, telling me oh that part is discontinued. how generous of them to make me wait. AGAIN. so my question is three parts. 1 is there no way to clean it up good enough to work? ie. sand paper, steel wool. and 2, is that part really discontinued through sea doo? ( i went to the seadoo page and the parts link only went as far back as '96) and C, where can i get a replacement (is selling parts?) since the only shop in ogden utah doesnt have one. i am waiting to hear from shops in slc.

first you gotta determine whether the sensor was right or not. run the motor until it starts to beep. pull the seat and see how hot the motor and exhaust are. if very warm to the touch but you can keep hand on there, the temp is ok. look on ebay. you can buy anything you need for seadoos on there. if you can't touch the motor, you don't need a sensor, you need to find cooling system problem, and you need to apologize to the sensor for ever doubting it...
