I have "obtained" a jetski in my divorce and know that there were a lot of upgrades done to the engine. I dont know which engine is in it and just found out one of the pistons is shot with a hole in it. So, I need to figure out which engine is in to to get the replacement piston. I know it has a duel carb which I have already rebuilt. Is there any way to figure out if this is an up-sized block or engine.

resq45hero, there should be an engine identification number on top of the magneto housing.

Also look on the top of the piston, might have to look at the good one, there should be a number stamped on the top of it that will tell you the size of the piston you have. If it is standard it will say 76 mm

Since it needs rebuilt, when you remove the cylinders to get honed/re-bored, the machine shop "should" know the next size to go, or with "honed", should know correct size for replacement, if you dont wanna replace the other piston. If your close to O.C., CA, look up " Q & E " engine rebuilders, corner of Kramer/Glassell and LaPalma...
