OK here's the deal. (1989 bombadier) I bought the Seadoo from a friend of mine who had it sit up about a year. It runs great as long as you don't hold the throttle wide open for a long period of time. I'm talking 3-5 minutes here. I have cleaned out the gas tank, including taking the lines off and blowing air through them. The engine just slows down gradually and won't die if you keep throttle open on a longer run. If you try to choke the engine (thought it might be lacking fuel) it will die straight away. If you can just keep it running for 30-40 seconds it will finally gain rpm until it runs full speed again. Then the process is repeated. IF you just play, work the throttle, it will never miss a lick. I thought it might be getting hot but a quick removal of the seat and a "hand" check of the engine tells me that is not the case. This thing is really baffling. After the engine gets warm you do have to crank it over 4-5 seconds to get it going again.
