Morning...First time posting!

Searched many a thread here and all the information is great...but sometimes confusing because there is so much information. So my problem (sure it has been answered many times)...

- 1998 Seadoo 1800 Sportster
- Engines rebuilt about 4 years ago
- Has never run proper since then
- Change plugs every year
- Had oil valves changed...was burning oil like crazy on startup...thought that was the issue
- Had all carbs rebuilt...thought that was the issue
- just had the rave covers machined...one worn and one warped...thought that was the problem...mechanic says the engines etc still look great!
- the mechanic found water in fuel tank...mostly drained...check filters often and no signs of water any more...thinks that is the problem now
- starts and idles perfect
- try and throttle up and engines hesitate and stall sometimes
- if I pull the choke a little bit out on port engine they both seem to kick in and accelerate perfect and run great.
- need to keep choke pulled out about 1/4 inch to keep the revs up
- when I throttle down to coast sometimes one or both both engines stall...real pain to be dead in water going through busy no wake zones!

Just trying to burn as much of the $200 worth of gas in it to see if the water is the true issue.

Any other thoughts? My mechanic is going nuts with this boat...never mind my wife with all the money sank into it...but its in excellent shape and don't want to turn it into a natural reef!

Yep... it's a carb issue. When they were rebuilt/cleaned... it wasn't done right. I would take them off, and make sure... 100%... that all the passages are clear... all the internal parts are OEM (after market parts SUCK !!!!!!)... and that the pop-off is right. (on the 800 engine... I like 32~36 psi with a 1.5 N/S)

OR....

I guess the rotary valve could be out of time a little... but that normally shows up as a bad idle.
