should you be able to move the throttle back and forth while the boat is in neutral? on my brand new boat cant move the throttle back and forth unless the boat is in forward. that is on the trailer in my garage, but don't see that it would be any different on the water, just want to know if that is normal?

yes, that is normal, they interlock the throttle and shifter in neutral position, and also in reverse, with shifter in reverse the throttle will only move forward about 1/3 way.

thanks mike. thought i was going crazy. so i should never have to rev the motor in neutral. got the boat in the garage after having stored it all winter and trying to get familiar with it so i hopefully don't have any of those on the water nightmares i've read about. took it to a mechanic to check it out before i put it in just to have an extra set of eyes check it out. went to turn on my blower and it didn't work. i think the fuse is blown. don't know if this was like this while at the shop. i'm a little pissed if it was and mechanic didn't catch it.
