Hi everyone here at the sea-doo community. I would like to request your help on an expedition I am planning...

I am looking for a 3 seater Sea-Doo jet-ski to cross the Aegean in at the closest point between Greece and Italy. I don't expect to do it on one tank, I will have an extra 60 litres of fuel on top of the tank's capacity with which top do it. The distance is 120 Nautical miles, and I will have a GPS along with emergency supplies and extra fuel.

I am trying to decide which Sea Doo to buy for my expedition, based on fuel consumption and the 3 seats. Post your ideas, please detail the mileage I can expect to get with the amount of fuel I will be taking (tank + 60 litres). If there is a large variation between full throttle and 45 MPH please list. Feel free to also let me know if you think I am crazy!

first off your freaking insane

second anything with the 4tec, i wouldnt go with the supercharged model though, you dont need HP to accomplish your trip

yes there is a difference between WOT and cruise (40-45), i can cruise almost all day and not really effect the gas tank to much

i have an 02 GTX 4TEC Limited (155hp, 3 seater)

ps:
WHY!?

That is the kind of jet ski I was looking at.

To answer your question: I migrate from the UK to Greece every summer and I want to mix things up a little, this year I hitch-hiked and caught a ferry, I thought next year I could drive and jet-ski. If I spend a year planning, I should survive... hopefully!

Any idea how many MPGs I can expect to get? I will do my own testing of course (living in Canterbury, UK, I can jump on my jet-ski and hop 12 miles across to France and back, though it's not quite 120...), but first I would like to establish whether or not it is actually possible.

Thanks for the reply!

:stupid: lol man i wish you where near me or vise versa because thats what i like to do. i would love to go on a 120 mile trip with out stopping. i have been drawing up pictures of a floating towable external fuel tank so i myself can make it to far away places. i don't know if a external fuel tank is legal but whatever. crazy people do crazy things :)

dont go near bosnia, or your gas will vanish in blink of an eye. hahaha j/k

good luck with your trip

I've only got 10 hours on my 155hp RXP, and have used about 110 litres.

Estimating average speed at 25mph.

That gives approx.
11 litre/hour
2.5 Imp.gall/hour
2.3 miles/litre
10 miles/Imp.gall

p.s. that's statute miles.
