Hey everyone...I haven't been around much lately. Hope all is well with everyone.

I have a question about the 100 hour service....hopefully someone knows the answer. No speculation please...facts only. Thanks!

I am still under warranty until 2012, I am at 101 hours on a 2007 RXP 215. My oil was last changed at 77 hours which was the end of last season before I put it in storage (Late October). My dealer has told me that I do not need the 100 hour service to maintain my warranty. My SC has never been rebuilt and I never changed out the washers (please don't tell me to do this, I have rode this thing like a rental for 101 hours, if they were going to go they would have gone by now).

My question is this: Do I need to do the 100 hour service to maintain warranty coverage? Has anyone heard of someone not doing this service and then being refused a warranty claim?

Please no speculation as I have been told by my dealer that I don't need to do it (why would he refuse to take my $800?). All he said is that I need to do the 10 hour service and change the oil every 100 hours. So the only time I would need to service it more than once a season is if I could put 100 hours in one summer (I wish!).

Thanks!

Matt

Well Matt...here is my thought. If it were mine I would rebuild it for peace of mind. At the least inspect the Super Charger for problems which is a simple task. If the same dealer is doing the 10 hour service, have then document it so you don't have warranty problems down the road. If the SC does go south it will loose rpm's first, then head south. I have never heard of any of them just exploding with no warning.

Thanks for the response Karl! That is a good idea...I will get them to document it.

It's also 1 year OR 100 hours (whichever is first) if you changed the oil when you stored it, you're good to hour 177. Did they also do everything they typically do at the 100 hour service when they prepped it for storage? they should have.

Ya that is what I was told by the dealer; 177 hours or when I store it next. They did do everything they would normally do at the 100 hour service other than rebuild the charger. My concern was that the manual says it should be rebuilt every 100 hours but my dealer says otherwise. I am just going to get them to put it in writing and I should be good to go.

Thanks!

Yeah, remind them though that they work for you when you bring the sea-doo in and if you want to rebuild the SC they should gladly take your money to do so.
