100 Hour Maintence

I was wondering what all is involved in a 100 hour maintence on a 01' GTX DI Seadoo? Also if I were to take it to a shop about how much would it cost? Thanks for all of the info.
 
Cody, there is a list of things to do at the 100 hr check. I will post the list tomorrow for you. As for cost I have no idea. I know here in Florida the Seadoo Dealers charge $99.00 per hour. I'll bet it's at least 2-3 hrs worth of charges. You might be able to do the service yourself. Is the warranty you have effected if you do it yourself? Sometimes the dealer has to do the service, for warranty purposes.

Periodic Inspection 100 hr service DI

Engine…………….... RAVE valve cleaning
Counter balance shaft oil level
TDC setting/ignition timing
Cooling System……...Water flow regulator valve inspection

Fuel System…………..Fuel Injection system sensors, visual inspection
Air intake silencer fir tightness
Fuel Tank Straps visual inspections

Lubrication System……Oil injection pump adjustment
Oil filter replacement

Electrical System………DESS

Propulsion System……..Shifter system/ cable adjustment
Jet Pump covers pusher inspection

Hull AND BODY……..Bailer Pick-ups check for obstructions
Check hull condition

If you want you could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and privet use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too.

Depends on your level of expertise. If you aren't mechanicaly inclined, i'd take it to someone, cause you may do more harm then good.

Otherwise, i agree with Skatman. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! I'd look for obvious leaks and loose bolts. Maybe change your pump oil (Easy DIY process, outlined many times in this forum) and plugs, then just leave her alone! If it's running fine, no need to fork out money. I think to an extent some of those services are ment for the person that does nothing but ride hard and put away wet. And takes no time to give things a lube, wash, and look over. Just like with cars. Dealers will charge you $300 for a "60,000 mile service" which is little more then grease the body and change wipers. Then try to find an excuse to tell you that stuff is broke so you'll pay them to fix it!

There's alot of good information to be found in this forum, and alot af knowledgeable members willing to help. I'm sure they can help you tackle anything that needs attention, while saving you money, and teaching you something in the process!!!

Honestly Cody, it doesn't seem like it is too hard for a semi mechanically minded person to handle. If you get in a jam...you now the drill...we are here to help.

Well I figure I can do it. I mean I work on Caterpillar equipment for a living lol. I just hate that everything is packed in such a small place and that I am not very familiar with boats/PWCs. Plus I will just have 2 get off my ass and do it lol! Thanks again. You guys have been a HUGE help.
 
From the sounds of it this should be a piece of cake...but it still is a different beast from what your used to. I can't work on Caterpillar equipment...unless they run in the water...:ack: Give us a shout if you still have questions.

Heh well if the skis were made to dig dirt then I wouldnt have a prob either lol. Well I will prolly take a look at some things cause I wanna take them out to the lake this Sunday. I havent been in about 2 weeks and I have the itch again!

I'm at the other end of the spectrum. My other toy is a SC 350Z with Zero room to work under the hood. So working on the Sea-Doo is a dream come true!! lol
