We have a new challenger 180se and just put 10 hrs on it. I bought the seadoo oil and filter for the Rotax 215 supercharged engine and was going to change the oil myself. In the operator manual it states that the 10 hr service should be done by a dealer. I contacted the local dealer and the 10 hr service is $345. Does anyone know if my warranty would be invalidated if I changed the oil myself?
thanks,
bill

Yes.........

Supposedly, I have read that it will. The ten hour service isn't just about changing oil. They connect the engine up to the B.U.D.S. system to look at how the engine is performing, whether the sensors and ECU are doing their job, making the necessary adjustments to the ski as you ride. Whether they need to make any changes to the ignition or timing systems by way of the computer depends on what they see on the computer program. All the changes they'll make is by clicking on a mouse, not turning a wrench.

They'll also know if you ran the ski according to the requirements for break in. They print out they get will be like a graph that shows them everything. Like the little black box of an airplane............It's not all about the oil change.
