So I picked up a 2008 seadoo challenger 180 jet boat it had the engine torn apart so I bought a long block engine from SBT had a hack job mechanic install it and tell me he couldn't finish it so I took the boat back and finished it so I put it in the water within 5 minutes it has the code p1116 overheating and beeping so I shut it down bring it back to the dock let it cool start it let it run and it over heats just idling I grab my temp gun the exhaust is around 95ish the exhaust manifold is around 110ish but the engine temp just keeps rising so I take out the thermostat thinking it might be a bad thermostat and it does the same thing I checked the impeller on the water pump all the fins look like they are fine I took apart the ride plate there isn't any blockages there its clear what else should I look at?
