Hi. I just bought my 2008 Sea-Doo Challenger 180 with 6hrs as a Bank Repo. I took it out on the lake and could not get more than 5mph @ 2800rpm on the full throttle.

I pulled the boat back on the trailer and started the engine the rpm's will rise to 8,000. It seems that while in the water the engine does not have enough power to push the boat or it feels like something holds it back. The engine works great and does not show any fault codes. Should I check supercharger?

I took the ride plate out to check on the impeller if the was a problem. The impeller spins freely when I took the impeller housing out.

I also broke coolant fittings that are attached to the ride plate. I removed the fitting and it has a OEM P/N 293710114. Does any one knows where I can get those fittings? I checked on line at sea-doo dealer parts finder and it does not show that they sell separate. Where can I get them?

Please any feedback will help.

That really sucks. Hope it isnt something major. I love getting bargains, but repos scare me.

You sitting on a mounted 5 gallon bucket?

I have pulled the impeller housing and found that the impeller wear ring has deep gouges and scratches. The impeller housing has some bends on the inside. Do you think that might be the cause?

nope.

normally when the wear ring is warn... the engine will rev high, and the boat wont go.

Did you check compression yet??

I had compression test done and no problems there. I also removed supercharger and that looks good too. I just purchased a new wear ring for my impeller housing and had a machine shop resurface blades on the impeller. The only thing I have to do is get some welds on the impeller housing, cause some of the channel blades chipped of. I hope this will fix the problem.:)

its more then likely the wear ring.. I had similar problem in my 2010 already. Sucked in something and it damaged the wear ring. The boat would raise in RPM and not speed. It would reach 7500 rpm and wouldnt go past 20mph. took back to dealer he changed my damaged wear ring. went straight to the water the boat hit 7500rpms and i was hitting 45mph again..

Hope that will fix my problem too. Still waiting on my impeller housing to be welded:toetap05:. Thanks for all the help:patriot:.
