08 RXT X 255 whine and loss of power

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

While riding, my 2008 rxt x 255 abruptly started a high pitched whine and loss of power. Max rpm's now about 6200 and top speed around 40.

Any ideas where I should start looking?

After some checking, I found an intercooler air hose in the bottom of the hull that had popped off. That was the source of the whine. I'm assuming since the noise and loss of power developed simultaneously they are related. Will post back if I find differently.
