I just bought a new 2008 Seadoo GTX and put it on the water for the first time this weekend. It ran very well for the first 3 hours and then my wife took it out and heard a “crunching noise”. Now when you hit the gas it just sits there a vibrates and does not move much. From what I have read here I think she may have had a stick or something sucked up into the pump and bent the shaft. It only has 3 hours on it will this be covered under the warranty?

It might not be that bad.... Take a look up the grate on the bottom that lets water into the pump. See if you can visually see any thing on the impeller. If so you can remover the grate and dislodge the obstruction.

Be safe and make sure the lanyard isnt plugged in, or better yet disconnect the battery before you start working on dislodging the obstruction.

As for warranty..........a good dealer would probably be friendly and help...........depends on the dealer?????????????? Was it shrouts, warrensburg cycle,or at LOTO?

I just checked and sure enough there was a piece of wood in there but it was loose in there so I just got it out without taking the grate off. It looks like it was lose in there though? I wonder why it did not just come out on it's own? Also the piece of wood looks like it was severed by a blade and has some white stuff on it like it was lodged between the blade and the white outside cylinder at some point. I sure hope that was it and there is nothing worng with the shaft etc.

Probably be okay...quick trip to Longview, Smithville or Blue Springs lake ought to tell the tale.

If it happens again, let it idle down and put it in reverse and gas it a little more than normal, I have had success doing this about 50% of the times. Doesnt' change the direction of the motor, but dropping the gate must build a little back pressue and loosen the debris.

Took it out to the lake and it is fixed!!! No more vibration and full speed. These things are pretty resilient after all. Thank you so much!!!! You saved me another sleepless night and a trip to the dealer in the morning.
