08 Challenger - Advice on Sub Placement and speakers.

Looking at getting one of JL Audio's Subs. Not sure If I need to get one of their enclosed subwoofers or just a subwoofer driver. Definitely not sure where the best place to install it would be. Any suggestions? Pics would be great too. Thanks


Also I am going to get a pair of their 650 series and mount them in the factory locations and a pair of the 770s and mount them elsewhere in the boat. Any advice on this would be great. Where do most mount your amps at?

I did this exact setup on my 180 challenger. I still have the M650 speakers and adapters for sale if you're interested. Here is a link to my thread with all the pics of where everything was mounted up.

BTW, after you put in 4 of the M650's, you won't need the M770's. My boat was extremely loud!

Cycleguy. I pmd you. Why are you selling your m650s? Thought you just put them in?

already sold them. I am going with a bigger 7.7 since the new boat will fit them.

So I have seen several interesting things. I saw one guy who used 7.7" in the rear at the factory locations. I also saw some who put the speakers all the way forward in the bow and some that put them in the walk through to get to the bow. Any thoughts on which would sound better?

I am looking at some 7.7" in the pass through and some 7.7" to replace the two factory rear speakers. Other option is two 6.5" in the bow and 7.7" in the rear.
