Took the boat out for the first time today after it being stored and winterized by the dealer, it wont rev past 5000 rpm (not enough to get on plane) and there is no supercharger whine. Feels like there is no boost. It smoked quite a bit when I cranked it up on the trailer (only about 20 sec run time) but I figured this was due to them fogging the engine. I am aware of the SC washer problems and plan to pull it to check them but I am wondering if there are any other conditions that can lead to no SC whine/no boost? Could fouled plugs cause this or an electrical problem? I had to chase down a couple of blown fuses to get the boat started but once I replaced them it ran, nos sure if related. Fresh water only boat, 40 hrs.

Thanks for any ideas.

Sounds like my problems too. Have a 200 speedster with non supercharged engines. First year leaving it in NY for the winter, and it ran like cr@p first time out. Dealer locally tested the gas and proclaimed it okay, and changed the plugs. It started and ran ok on the trailer, but it also did that previously too. Went to take the boat to the lake to test it & the trailer bearing failed...grrrrr. Hoping to get that fixed and test again later this week. I'm considering proactively paying to empty the tanks and fill with non-ethanol premium. The gas may not have water in it, but may have turned bad even with stabilizer added (or the boat does not respond well to the stabilizer I added???). Ugh. frustrating....

Got the boat to the lake and it ran like a dream with the new spark plugs. Guess that was the issue after all. Will only use ethanol free gas from now on anyway though.

To the op: The supercharger is mechanical so only a mechanical failure will prevent it from spinning (ie; broken washers). There are other things that could prevent you from getting up to a higher RPM where the supercharger makes the most difference such as fouled plugs or bad gas.
