Just had my 10 hour service done ($530) and a few warranty issues looked into. I told them the depth gauge/finder would squeell loudly at me as the dess key is engaged and the engines start-up. The loud squeeling continues until I push the darn depth gauge buttons/keys to turn it off. I then try to turn it back on and no depth registers, just a bunch of numbers change ie Kilo, etc.. Dealer says it checks out fine as working as transponder is working and that its me the operator that doesn't know what he's doing (not nice people). The dealer says it needs "RESET" each time I start the engines. Are they correct? It never used to have to be RESET evertime I got in the boat for the fist 10 times I took it out. Can anyone give me a procedure to stop the squeeling loud noise and re-engage the depth finder?
