When i plug my Des in and the computer starts up the right side tach wraps around past 8000 rpm and once engines are started it reads minimum 1500 rpm higher. I have switched the mulnex plugs from one engine to the other and the tach still does it when hooked to the other engine. question is do i have a dead tach or should i try to calibrate it??? problem was intermitent at first but now is continual..

The tach units are sealed and can't be calibrated to my knowledge. The test of switching the pick up wires usually tells you the tach is bad.
