my o6 rxt just started giving me the p0326 which is the knock sensor out of range. Is the sensor gone or could it be bad gas? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was just out on a Buddy's 08 RXT, last week. Ski was about 5 gallons low during 'pre-flight checks', so we topped off the ski with some (Doesn't matter the brand) 93 octane. We were riding for less then half an hour and that neat (and heart wrenching) scream came up and chk eng P-0326 was displayed. He said he was pretty sure it was just gas as he does not normally fill up there and the last time it happened and went away when he went back to his regular place.

I am not the superstitious type but I have known other vehicles that did not 'like' certain gas for some reason. It all SHOULD be the same but like people, they seem to like one place over another.

Oh, to my point. A knock sensor is telling you that there is pre-detonation going on. Gas is detonating BEFORE it is expected to. This happens NORMALLY from hot spots that should not be there. Everything in a cylinder should be the same temperature and that temp should be below the flash point of the atomized gas. Pre-detonation can cause bent rods and other nasty problems such as carbon build up in places which cause all the fuel not to burn up and balance issues to the piston and other moving pars, which cause vibration and contributes to other issues as well.

read this EXCELLENT post by seadoosnipe on Detonation and what it looks like and even more detail on it.
