Just wondering the purpose of this block of foam? I was putting in a second battery and I hit the foam block and its not attached to anything it moves around and Im not sure what the purpose of it is. If I remove it there is a nice area to secure a storage bin? anyway just wondering if anyone has removed it. Also what kit is everyone using for an airfilter/tube upgrade off the supercharger.

Thanks in advance.

We all have that foam block in our Challengers and DON'T remove that block! That block is for positive flotation, buoyancy, in case you take on a huge amount of water. All boats under 25 feet have to have positive flotation. It's the law here in the USA. This will save your rear if ever you sink. Your life and passenger lives are worth more than a storage bin.

I don't use a kit....... just the normal stock air filter on my 2008 Challenger. The air filter attaches directly to the inter-cooler. I believe it is three inches in diameter. If you buy an after market air filter make sure it doesn't have any metal parts that can rust and enter your inter-cooler.

the air intake should be attached to the supercharger (if you have one), then the intake manifold. which includes the throttle body and intercooler.

Here's the pictures:DSCF1225.JPGDSCF1224.JPGDSCF1223.JPG

That's the way my boat was set up from the factory. The air filter to the inter-cooler, to the supercharger, then the intake manifold, which includes the throttle body. Pete63, please correct me if I am wrong.

My Sea-Doo is a 2008 and manufactured differently. Trust me I have a supercharger because I had it fully rebuilt and replaced the ceramic washers with steel washers in the summer of 2014. You can not do 7800 rpm without a supercharger. Picture #1 says, " SUPERCHARGED INTERCOOLED". Look at the pictures I provided and tell me this is not a supercharger. As far as I am concerned, "this subject is closed."

hi rcguy, yes you do have a supercharger. i did not argue that you didnt. i quoted pete63 and it said (if you have one)... which obviously you do. the air intake tube with the air filter goes to the supercharger (not the inter-cooler as stated above). pretty similar setup as mine except i have a box with no filter instead but all the plumbing is the same.

Thanks I will not touch the foam block! I might try and update my air intake to the one in the picture I just hate having no filter in the box style one that came on the 06.

Auh, don't mind me I'm having a bad day. Lousy weather and can't take the boat out. My lady talked me into detailing the Sea-Doo together, so today wasn't a complete waste plus a lot of honey do's. Honey do this .... honey do that... etc. all day long. DLB hope you get your DOO the way you want. If you need any help just ask. I'm done with upgrades...just want (wish) my woman a I to enjoy the season trouble free.
