Hey everyone,
I've owned my '05 Speedster 200/370hp for a few weeks now, and have had her out quite a few times and absolutely love it.
If I quickly get on the throttle from a stop, I notice that the right engine shoots up way higher than the left...almost like it is not engaged or something. The left one seems to dig in appropriately...it jumps up in rpm, but doesn't seem to over-rev like the right side engine. The two tachs seem completely inaccurate, so I'm not sure what rpm the right is actually getting to, but my point is that the right side just seems to jump up effortlessly and much higher (too high) in rpm than the left side. Is this something I should worry about, or is this a condition that regularly happens?
The boat seems to pull like a beaten mule, and tops out at a gps indicated 56mph (does this seem correct for a 370hp model?)...so this holeshot over-rev on the right engine has me pretty curious.
Which leads to my other question. I typically cruise at an indicated 5000rpm or so, and every now and then do a 15 second goose up to full throttle. It seems when I slide the throttles to max, the two tachs only indicate about 7000rpm. Shouldn't that be around 7500rpm? Or is this just another case of the tachs being more or less completely useless? The boat definitely gives you a kick in the pants when you floor it...but I'm curious if the engines should be revving a little higher for potentially another mph or three.
Thanks for any input!
