05 Speedster 200 - Engine compartment hard to open

Was away at the lake last week and towards the end of the week the engine compartment became real difficult to open, the pull handle in the front storage area still works, so I guess the cable is not snapped or anything but have to really struggle to pull it up and in order to get the catch to secure the lid when closing I have to push the front handle down which is just as much effort. Any ideas what the problem could be and how easy this is to fix?

my 150 has the same problem. i jiggle the cable and have someone pulling up on the compartment door.

Yep, that what I am doing too, I am guessing the cable obviously has not 'snapped' as I would not be able to open at all but looking for a more permanent fix, as it feels as though it could break completely at some stage and then I would be hooped..

I would think the only potential fix would be to soak the cable, or replace it as Mine does it too and I assume it due to lubrication loss.
