05 Sea doo challenger 180 engine hatch gas shock

I'm looking to replace my gas shock struts on my engine hatch as they are completely rusted out. The OEM ones are quite pricey. Is there a aftermarket one that will work on the sea doo. I see many aftermarket ones out there but I'm not sure what specs are needed in order to buy the right ones. Thanks!

Many auto parts stores sell them. Various lengths and strengths/pressures.

I know the length is 20" amd the shaft is 9 1/2 in long when open. I don't know what pressure to get or closing length.

Your struts are probably a different length and pressure but you still should be able to order them from the same company. Just need to know the compressed length, extended length and charge pressure.

I found those threads. That's why I'm asking of anyone knows the pressure and closing lenght. I can't mesured it while hatch is closed. There's no room. I know it's 20" long and shaft is 9" when open. If any one knows the compression and closed lenght I'd appreciate it!

I found them. If anyone needs to replace there Challenger 180 engine hatch gas struts they are 20" long 8" rod 12" closed lenght and 100lbs pressure. These are the one I bought.

Probably could have gotten away with 80lbs presser but I'm sure over time they will weaken but they work great. Now I just have check engine light to deal with
