Just purchased this last weekend and had it out once and its hard to tell if all of the seaweed was causing my issues or if any of this actually leads to the cavitation. The pump insert is pretty beat up and I am looking for a replacement, but i took the pump off last night and the wear ring don't look terrible. Would these tiny lines in the ring cause that much of an issue? I've replaced them on the skis before, but they were 100x worse. Also the plate that holds the pump seems to have jagged edges? Any suggestions on if this is ok to use or needs replacement? My initial ride from the dock was great it felt like it took a while to plane out, but it did just fine. I had to go back to the dock and when I left again it had minimal spin. I pulled the boat out and it had a pole of seaweed under it. Went out again and this time I went no where. Idled back to the dock and gave up for the day, but sure enough another small pile of seaweed after getting the boat on the trailer. At this point just trying to make sure my next trip out is enjoyable for everyone. Thanks for the help.

The impeller is a little beat up but the ring looks ok I know people cut the broken intake teeth off and sanded smooth for a clean stream of water into the pump.

Ha sorry you impeller looks good looked at the wrong pic I know weeds do slow it down till it clears I'm going to try a plate reseal and see it that helps!

Do you think those fine scratches in the ring are causing an issue? As far as those teeth. Do they do any harm as they are now? Or should I go as you mentioned and dremel them down?

I think the fine scratches are ok check the gap with a flashlight I would dremel them down to clean it up

you have the pump out, why not change the ring. those groves can cause the cavitation.
