About a week ago my 04 Sportster got a rope bound in the impeller area (actually, MY SON got a rope bound in the inpeller area!). With a knife, pliers, and goggles I went under and removed it. The boat ran perfectly for 2 days of regular riding.

Then she began reving high with a lack of propulsion when 4 people were on the boat or if pulling a wakeboarder. The condition continued to deteriorate, and now the boat RPMs are very high but the boat will not propell well at all.

I have taken her out of the water and inspected the impeller and wearing ring area. They look very good to me. The wearing ring is new this year. Is it possible that there may be a transmission issue as someone I know suggested (but knows little about jet boats)?

Any other possible suggestions? We finally got some great weather here and I have the week off, but no boat.

Thanks for any responce.

Issue resolved

FYI, I brought the boat Dockside Landing in Ticonderoga NY. Like all boat repair places they are not cheep, but I do believe they are honest. Ed is the mechanic that helped me as he did in the past. He showed me where there was wear on the ring. He will replace for $225.

I consideded that fair. He'll try to have it done by this weekend

:hurray:
