I have a 2004 GTI LE RFI that has been running great since I got it last spring. I have a new problem that happened a couple of days ago. While riding on a very choppy lake last week, waves of 2 - 3 feet, I noticed that every time I hit a wave(resistance), the ski would bog down a little more than normal. After a couple of days, I was able to find some flat water and open it up. The ski usually revs to 6800 RPM, but now it will max out at 6400 - 6500 RPMs. I checked the compression: 140 and 145 psi. The MAINT light flashes at WOT, and only at WOT, but that has been going on since I got the ski.

Any ideas on what I could check? Thanks for any ideas.

If your ski has the throttle position sensor in the throttle cable... check it to make sure it's in range.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been able to respond for the past couple of days due to other projects. One of which involved mother-in-law which definitely trumps my SeaDoo problems, haha.

The TPS could have been jostled around slightly because of the rough riding for a week. I looked up any adjustment procedures in the service manual and it suggested that this could only be done by a dealer or trained technician. I'm not one to usually follow warnings and such. Is there a way to check or reposition the TPS on my own?

Also, the manual suggested that the RAVE valves could be causing this problem. Any thoughts on this?
